Mamalicious Dance

Mamalicious Dance is back! Tara and her dance friend Jen will co-teach:

This is a beginner level class open to all levels. We will stretch, do a little exercise to get our blood flowing, break down moves, teach those essential skills such as walking, body rolls and hair flips. We will also do follow-along choreography and learn a short routine. This is an inclusive environment and judgement-free zone. Mature teenagers who like to dance are welcome to attend. 

4-pack class passes and drop-ins available. We plan to offer classes throughout the school year.

About me: Cindy Pineo completed her 300-hour yoga teacher training in 2023 with Abby Kraai at People's Yoga in Portland, Oregon. She teaches classes that combine creative asana and vinyasa with mindfulness practices for self-awareness and emotional balance. In her day job, Cindy is mom to an 8-year-old and works as a bookkeeper for nonprofits (including Pea Pod Playschool and Shazaam)!

Mamalicious

It’s time for some mama time and movement to nourish your mind, body and spirit. Dancing is a great way to get rid of stress, sharpen your mind, and infuse your soul with joy. No dance experience is necessary. We meet you where you are at and spend time learning the moves and skilling up before we do any choreography. We keep it fun and just enough challenge to keep it interesting. I can give different options if you want to level up. This is a judgement free zone and a safe and supportive environment. We aim to leave self-criticism at the door. Seriously. When you cross the threshold you are entering a “I will love the hell out of myself for one hour” zone. Class is structured as follows:

10 mins of Inspiration/Community Time

15 mins Follow along Warm-up, Stretching/Strengthening, Body Isolations (I need this!)

15 mins Get into your body/Let Loose/Just enough structure to inspire movement. Also fun. I have hoola hoops and dance ribbons and i’m not afraid to use them.

~Water Break

10 mins Technique/Skill building/Across the floor/Short phrase (aka break down of moves used in choreo or a short combo, sexy fierce walking, hair flips, body rolls, floor work, etc. Get your life!)

25 mins Fun Choreography (Brain food)

5 mins Cool down and Reverence

*WE INCLUDE FEMALE IDENTIFYING, TRANS WOMEN, NON-BINARY, AUNTIES, BIG SISTERS (18+ YEARS) AS “MAMAS.”

Time and Location: 4:30pm-6:00pm Taborspace Day Hall
